David Sela, Treasurer
For nearly 20 years, Dave Sela has been with large and small businesses within Greater Vancouver, most recently as Corporate Controller for Best Buy Canada Ltd. In early 2006, Dave left Best Buy and was appointed Vice President, Finance & Administration for National Money Mart, where he leads the Finance function for the North American Business unit.
Dave holds a CGA designation and a B.A. in Economics from U.B.C. He has a keen interest in and a sound knowledge of systems and processes. For 5 years in the late 90s, Dave lectured C.G.A. courses - primarily system design and implementation - for the Faculty of Commerce at U.B.C. Additionally, Dave is a member of the Financial Instruments Working Group (FIWG) with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Accounting Standards Board.
Dave spends most of his free time with his wife Dorothy and their 2 year old son Dawson. Before parenthood, Dave was an avid golfer and tennis player, and now his recreational activities include jogging, pushing a baby carriage, mountain-biking and the occasional kindergym class.
